Chapter3: CHETHANA (Jiva)-9

Q:  What is karma, which is the cause of restrictive characteristics of the elemental living entity called the ‘baddhas’?

A:  The ‘baddhas’, namely the living entities have been in existence from the beginning of the world. As said in the Vedas and the elucidative codes, (‘saasthraas’), the acts of the living entities in accordance with them constitute good karma and acts, which are violative of the vedic codes are bad karma. However, the word, ‘karma’ refers to either of the acts. The living entity, which has been in existence from time immemorial, accumulates both good and bad karma.  The balancing account will decide the enjoyment and the type of next birth.
