Chapter3: CHETHANA (Jiva)-7

Q:  Is there any difference between Sridevi and the other consorts like Bhoodevi?

A:  Sridevi is reckoned as the queen of the universal emperor. The other consorts form part of Her and assist her in discharging the delicate function of commending and interceding on behalf of the living entities. In comparison, Sridevi enjoys certain special privileges. At the time of creation, Sridevi prays to the Lord by way of encouragement and participates in this important function. Ever eager to extend her hand of help to the living entities, she even accompanies the Lord in His incarnations as Sita and Rukmini and makes the Lord’s mission that much pleasurable. The nithyasooris (devas serving the Lord in His high abode (‘paramapada’) would like to emulate the earthly living entities of serving their father (Narayana) in association with their mother (Sri). Thus they serve the divine couple called, ‘Srimannaaraayana’.
