Chapter3: CHETHANA (Jiva)-11

Q:  When a completed act ends there itself, how can that karma provide effective result later on?

A:  The noble act pleases the Lord and the ignoble act annoys the Lord. The pleasure and annoyance of the Lord are reflected in the form of reward and punishment to the living entity later, although the act of karma-good or bad ends there itself. In other words, the effect of the karma of the living entity issues forth from the impact that they have had on the Lord.
