Chapter4: ACHETHANA (NON- SENTIENT)-1 Featured

Q:  What are the special features of the non-sentient and what are the varieties?

 A:  The non-sentient things have two distinct features:
1. Non-possession of the thinking faculty and
2. Possession of the propensity for change in shape and feature.


The non-sentients are of three varieties:
1. Suddha Sathva (‘nitya vibhoothi’) or permanent and pure existence,
2. Misra sathva (‘prakrithi’) or mixed existence of purity as in the case of nature and
3. Sathva Soonya or the total absence of purity like Time.
