Q:  Is it necessary for the ‘prapannas’ to follow the ‘varnaasrama dharma’ prescribed by the sasthras?

A:  “Varnaasramaacharaha vada purushena paraha pumaan!
Vishnur aaradhyathe panthaha thath dosha karakaha:!!” (Vishnu Purana. 3-8-9)

(The Supreme Lord, Vishnu is worshipped by people, who follow the ‘varnaasrama dharma’. There is no other way of pleasing Him.) In accordance with the sloka from the Vishnu Purana, everyone should follow the dharma prescribed for the respective varna.
