Divya Desa Kainkaryam Updates - Thirupper Nagar (Koviladi)

VEDICS Foundation wishes to thank all of its members for their constant support in all activities pertaining to Divyadesam support. Koviladi is a small hamlet located in the midst of the lush banks of Cāuvery and Coleroon rivers. In our sampradāyam it is referred to by the name Tirupper-Nagar which houses the famous Kamalavalli Nāyika sametha Sri Appalarangan Devasthānam. Vedics Foundation along with valuable support from Kinchitkaram Trust is supporting this Divya Desam by purchasing and delivering groceries for daily requirements of the temple (Nithyapadi). Our volunteers also help support the Tirunandavanam (Sacred Garden) attached to the temple. Read more...

Doddacharpuram Temple Renovation

The village of Kaliappettai, otherwise known as Doddacharpuram, is on the western side of the River Palar and at a distance of 8 KMs from Chengalpattu town. The village has a Vishnu temple whose presiding deity is the moola vigraham of Sri Lakshmi Narayana (moolavar only). The temple also houses Sri Venugopala Swamy with His consorts Rukmani and Sathyabhama, Senkamala Thayar, Sri Karvanathullan with His consorts, Sri Chakrathazhwar, Nammazhwar, Thirumangai Azhwar, Swamy Emperumanar and Sri Manavala Mamunigal whose idols were installed in the temple in various periods. The history of the village dates back to nearly five hundred years and the temple had all along been witnessing daily thrikala poojas, thirumanjanams and grand annual festivals for the deities as per the agama shastras. This temple is currently in a very dilapidated condition and needs support from all Bhagavathas for speedy restoration to its old glory.

Happiness, bliss, pleasure or delight is the essence of the self. It is sukharūa. The words, sukha and ānanda are synonymous. The definition of happiness or bliss is given by Śāstrakāras as follows: Happiness is the object of a desire which does not depend upon any other desire.
